This project was named Lewis Block inspired by the story of Joseph Lewis, one of Alberta’s first documented Black fur traders, whose remarkable story of resilience and ambition continues to inspire. The name celebrates a legacy of determination and opportunity, shared by the founders at Rohit and the many newcomers who call our city home. It reflects the spirit of building something lasting and meaningful in the heart of Edmonton.
